It would have dominated MEET THE PRESS and 60 MINUTES this coming Sunday.

It seems to me that all of the maneuvers that may make the bill more palatable in the House will make it all the more offensive to Joe Manchin, and probably Kyrsten Sinema, too.

I'll predict here and now that some form of the Bill will pass but it will be so seriously gutted that, apart from the moral victory, it won't please you and it won't do the good you hope to see done.

And, it will kill the Dems' chances in 022.

The bill has already been seriously gutted. I'm not happy about that, but I fully expected it.

The cancel culture lefties who are livid at Bernie for not fighting harder are never able to articulate what Bernie should be doing instead. They whine a lot but never offer any workable answers.

I just had a several days long back and forth with one such progressive on Facebook who's furious at Bernie because he won't advocate for a truly socialist healthcare system like the VA or the UK's national healthcare system.

I'm sure that you understand that, to achieve anything more, would require two things DC Dems don't have at the moment.

1. The huuuuuuuuge majorities that they had with The ONE in 09, and,
2. A skilled political leader in the White House, as they did in 09. Joe ain't that. He's a flatulent fool.

A huuuuuuuuge number of Dems in Congress now disagree with Bernie on most of this stuff and they know full well that, if they voted for it now, they're dead meat in 022.

I suspect that some of the Dems don't support Bernie because they don't want rto lose their corporate support. For example Joe Manchin has financial ties to the coal industry that personally made him $400K last year, and the pharmaceutical industry is one of Kyrsten Sinema's top corporate donors.
