I found out about the Op Ed while watching CNN. No one in that CNN dialog disagreed with Pence. That's historic, eh!?

I said to Donna, in another thread, that the press' take on Joe has changed and that, while watching CNN, I've found myself checking to make sure that I wasn't watching Fox.

That's what I don't get about you True Believers in Joe here. People who are informed know that Joe's making a mess of Afghanistan.

    If Biden had pulled all combat troops out by May 1st, the situation there would have been even more chaotic than it is now.

    The truth is that every president since Bush inherited the mess that is Afghanistan. Bush must be enjoying all of this finger pointing that's going on now because none of those fingers are pointing at him.

    Well, the experts are saying that the so called "fighting season" which is weather related begins later than May 1. Trump claims that that's why he set that date as his goal, that removing people and weapons would have been relatively easy then because few Taliban would have been around.

    Donna, this is another case of you being conveniently naíve.

    The problem, or at least one major problem is that Joe pulled out the troops before our citizens and the Afghanis we promised safe haven were escorted out of danger.

    You and I disagree about the withdrawal but Joe's problem now is his failure to care for citizens whom we owe protection and 80,000 Afghanis whom we promised protection.

    And, since the Stephanopoulos interview, especially on CNN, Joe's callous lack of concern for those people.

    Thanks for demeaning yourself enough to read the Post. Others here, I'm sure, won't.

    Another difference between Trump, with whom I passionately disagree on this, and Joe is that Trump's withdrawal agreement was condition based.

    All of the Trump people I've heard, including Trump himself, say that there were points in the withdrawal plan that the Taliban failed to meet agreed on targets and the Americans attacked. No specifics there, but people on both sides of the aisle are critical of Joe because his plan didn't hold the Taliban accountable to do anything.

    All that said, I disagree with this whole thing. What bothers me about Joe...and bothers many Americans Dem, GOP, Swamp or not, progressive, lib and conservative is how he's put so many innocent and trusting people at risk.

    Duh, Donna. We still have the most powerful and best equipped military in the world and many weapons and boots on the ground in Afghanistan. It would have been a piece of cake. And, fun, too! Bahahahaha.

    Of course, then, Joe became President.
