Curt finds the behavior Stefanik cites to be perfectly acceptable and, pb thinks, laudable:

Stefanik Looks to Hold Judge in Trump Fraud Trial Accountable for ‘Judicial Bias’ and ‘Bizarre Behavior’

After the defendant won an appellate ruling against Judge Engoron on the appropriate statute of limitations in this case, the judge simply ignored the ruling. Judge Engoron entered summary judgment against the defendant before the trial even began, without witnesses, other evidence, and cross-examination. This, despite the fact there’s disputed material evidence–and there’s no victim of the defendant’s supposed fraud. Indeed, as the trial evidence has made clear, the defendant paid back the sophisticated Wall Street banks, on time, in full, with interest, as agreed. No insurance company paid a penny. And these banks and insurance companies, supposedly defrauded, continue to do business with the defendant. Yet Judge Engoron decreed before trial the defendant somehow committed fraud. Now, the judge is holding a trial–with no jury–to determine how much of Tish James’ requested $250 million in damages–with no victims–he will extract from the defendant. How does this not violate the defendant’s Seventh Amendment right to a jury trial?

[And, and I love this from a judge HEARING a case...HEARING, HEARING a case..
HEARING, get it?, HEARING.]

And Judge Engoron has made it crystal clear he doesn’t care what the defendant or his attorneys have to say. Indeed, Judge Engoron illegally gagged them. Judge Engoron told the defendant: “We are not here to listen to what you have to say.” He told the defendant’s counsel: “I am not here to hear what he has to say, now sit down!” And Judge Engoron even threatened the defendant’s counsel if he filed a routine motion for a directed verdict: “You better not, Chris!”

This is NYC justice...for Trump, anyway.

Who, besides, Curt, is doubtful when pb's Legal Goober #s 1 and 3 suggest that, upon appeal, when appeals move beyond New York, this mess will be reversed!!!!!?

Stefanik is a moron. She's trying to apply things to this case that are not applicable to it.

The facts and evidence of the Trump Org's fraud are not in dispute and have been legally established before this. The company was found guilty of fraud. All the evidence proving fraud was in the judges hands. What is going on now is a judge deciding exactly what the penalty for the defendant(s) involved in the fraud is going to be based on how intentionally he decides they committed fraud. This judge was not required to sit a jury for this current segment of the trial. Stefanik doesn't know what she's blathering on about.

But Bill, because your love and devotion for Donald Trump is so deep and unerring and she was saying exactly what you wanted to hear, you lapped it all up like a dog licks up vomit that you're declaring is ice cream.

It's absolutely hilarious how Trump has been behaving as though he is simply not aware that his goose has already been put in the oven and the temperature has been set. It's now just a matter of for how long it's going to cook. And Trump's been incessantly badmouthing and lamely bullshitting the guy who is going to decide that? Oh that's funny. You may not find it so, Bill. But it's hilarious I assure you.

If the judge has documentary evidence of Trump having signed a loan form declaring that a property is worth a sum of, for example say, $50,000,000 (far beyond its actual legitimate value) and Trump also signed a tax form saying that the same property at nearly the same time was only worth, say, $750,000 (far below its actual legitimate value) then fraud was in fact committed. It's a black or white sorta thing. And it wasn't only one instance. The judge has documented evidence of fraud like this running rampant throughout the company.

I love how you MAGA Republicans believe that there was no crime committed as long as there were no victims. Classic MAGA Republican immorality and disregard of the law as it applies to them.

He filed taxes and applied for loans using fraudulent information. That is fraud. And they have all the evidence of it. It doesn't matter a damn if he paid back the loans. Loans which he wouldn't have gotten, or at least wouldn't have gotten with such good terms for, if he had provided legitimate and true information.

Oh and if paying the money back erases any crime, Has he paid back all the taxes yet that he fraudulently didn't pay so there was no crime there either...?

No one else gets away with a single incident of this if they are caught doing it. It's illegal. It's a crime. And it's been the Trump business plan for decades.

Bill, I am not just listening to one single outlier attorney like you are forced to. I'm listening to a pretty vast assortment of federal and state prosecutors, former attorneys general, and scholarly legal experts. You should try it sometime. I highly recommend it.

But Bill, because your love and devotion for Donald Trump is so deep and unerring...

Yeah. Me and pb's Legal Goober #1, classic lib and Harvard prof Alan Dershowitz.

Thing is. Trump could have done everything he's been PRE-judged of doing and the misbehavior of the TDS Attorney General and the wacked out Dem Swampcult judge could scuttle the carrying out of justice...

...in a nation in which the liberties guaranteed even to Donald Trump apply. You and your woke lynch mob crazies, eh!!!!!?

Freedom, po. Freedom. Liberty and justice for EFFINall! Keehee. Haha!

I never applied any motivations to your peanut man, Bill. I was talking about how your love and devotion for Donald Trump is so deep and unerring, and how she was saying exactly what you wanted to hear, so you lapped it all up like a dog licks up vomit that you're declaring is ice cream. Which you took care not to deny.

I generally mean exactly what I am saying. There's no need to mendaciously read your nonsense into what I say, Bill.

Has anybody else noticed how similar in phonetic construction MAGA and HAMAS are? I wonder if they share a common etymology.

Btw, Elise Stefanik sure knows how to play the gullible rubes!

    HtS,
Please let us know if The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct does anything with Elise Stefanik’s missive besides filing it in a circular file.
