pb predicted Pride Month 023 would be a doozy but even the hyper prescient pb had no idea...

The demise of woke hegemony!:

The NHL is in the midst of controversy as several teams and players decided to forgo wearing Pride-themed jerseys on nights celebrating the LBTQ+ community.

Players and teams have cited religious reasons and fear of reprisal in their home countries for forgoing the warmup jersey. When the issue initially popped up last month within the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers organizations, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman defended how the teams handled the situations.

Get woke, go broke.

    I honestly wish the sports leagues - ALL OF THEM - would get out of the politics business. Nothing makes me cringe more than Breast Cancer Awareness uniforms with cash going to compromised "charities" or Military month where the NFL wears camouflage themed merch on the sidelines to make an extra buck over the billions they're already raking in. And while we're at it - get rid of the National Anthem and military flyovers before games too. If you want to make Indy super happy - dump the sideline reporters and mic'd up athletes as well. Just the game please.

    BTW, the past few years I've been turning off the sound during large portions of games. Especially basketball. My Heat had a miracle run to the Finals this year and after the first round they don't allow our fantastic local broadcast team to cover games. I can't stand the national crews -they drive me nuts. So thru the final 3 rounds I only had the sound on for maybe 75% of the game - to hear penalties discussed and other clarifications I didn't catch on my own.

    The one setting in which all that stuff fits organically is NASCAR. All of it, even the Invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance, too, fits the culture perfectly. Elsewhere, it's gratuitous. Based on my reading, some LGBTQ people considered the Pride Month brouhaha to be patronizing before the backlashes that are beginning to manifest themselves. And, expecting athletes from foreign cultures where LGBTQ behavior is considered aberrant or devoted American Catholics, or Baptists, or MUSLIMS, to wear "gay pride" gear was ridiculous and an invitation to disaster from the beginning.

    Let NASCAR have its displays of patriotic zeal. There it's genuine. For that crowd not to have it would be phony. Otherwise,...!

    Many behave as you do. What I picked up from my study of the rapidly expanding anti-TQ LGB movement is that it takes LGBTQIA2+ Pride Month seriously. It hates it. It resists it and mocks it.

    As I've repeated regularly, they're about the demise of woke hegemony...which can be seen in June in the demise of the crumbling of the woke trans political agenda and trans ideology.

    When I think of Pride Month it's always in the context of the "pride months" that were so popular with corporate America back in the 1980s. It was never a regularly scheduled thing - it only happened when people weren't getting enough raises or other benefits. Then the company would basically hold a "pride month" as a way to remind people they were lucky to have a job. If you didn't play along it was kind of like refusing to pledge allegiance and you'd end up on the company's sh*t list. If we're being real - that's what these new "Pride Month"s are about too. It's our governments way of pretending like they're doing something for the LGB-alphabet crowd when really they're doing nothing. That applies to the Black Lives Matter kabuki show they put on the last couple years and Juneteenth as well imho.

    What I'm picking up is anti-Queer hate. And, there's a lot of it. As I've informed po about a dozen times, the only trans people who are the target of anger and opposition are woke trans people.

    In fact, GAG describes itself as an organization of LGBs and trans people.

    Give up being woke and all will be copacetic.

    I've posted repeatedly that people have absolutely no effin problem with trans people. Sum up the courage to watch some EFFIN Fox News Channel!!!!! Caitlyn Jenner is friggin BELOVED there. Trans PEOPLE? NBD!

    As I've posted, even among the GAG crowd, trans effin PEOPLE are welcomed...though few join, as far as I can tell. Because, most trans people are devoted to the trans political agenda and trans ideology.

    What's happened, since last Pride Month, is that a huuuuuuuuuge number of LGBs have turned against effin WOKE TQ politics. And, you'd better get used to it because it's now a trend. I can't see any way that, by next Pride Month, the woke trans political agenda and trans ideology will not be under even more serious attack than it is now...from anti-TQ LGB groups and activists. And, certainly, the notion that you can presume that LGB people will agree with your radical, political LGBTQ agenda is dead.

    How many times have I invited po to repent of the wokeness!!!!!?

    So, yeah. As I have posted repeatedly, no one has trouble with trans PEOPLE. But, I do think that your inability to pick that up from my posts, since that's been my constant theme, suggests that you...and many trans people...can't think of being trans apart from being woke...

    ...that will be your loss.

I've seen a trans person here and there and know at least one thru my business (compared to gay folks everywhere) - I can't imagine there are too many trans people in your life up there in PA.     Indy!, for about six months or so, I've been on an anti-woke rage-rant. I predicted that Pride Month 023 would be a tough time for the woke LGBTQ community and I was sorta bang on...except that it started before June...with the Bud Light mess. (I do like the Zac Brown Bud Light commercial, though.)

    I've made it clear that this is all about HatetheSwamp's HatewhatsWoke campaign. I've repeatedly reminded po that Caitlyn Jenner is effin beloved at Fox and by conservatives in general. And, I remind Curt that the star of Fox News Radio is Guy Benson known here, by me, as "that gay Guy Curt never heard of." This ain't anti-LGB or anti-trans. It's anti-woke. I'll be a bit sad when June's over. The TQs make being anti-woke so d@ng, effin easy.

    I've invited po and Donna, too, to repent of their woke opinions.

    It was a comical misstep by Bud, but they'll run a year or so of cowboy commercials and be right back where they were next year. As someone in the advertising business, the Dylan ad tells me Bud just got too big for their britches. They probably tried to save a few bucks on the ground work because if they looked into it for just a couple minutes they would realize the odds of bringing in any "woke" people (as you call them) was not worth the effort. The only people who drink Bud are conservatives and people drinking free Bud when it's the only "beer" at the party.

    People forget, peebs. They forgive. New wingnuts are born every minute. Outside of that one ad - Amheuser Busch is one of the smartest companies out there when it comes to advertising. If you don't believe that - why do you think a beer that tastes like bird bath water is (or was) the #1 seller? They'll fire whatever idiot came up with that idea and get right back on track.

    Here's the thing about beer drinking...which I don't do...but people are already drinking another brand. They won't forget what they're currently drinking. From everything I've heard, Bud Light ain't better or worse than other light beers. That's why I think Bud Light loses will be permanent.


    The Fox boycott is different. There's no close equivalent there. I've replaced Fox with podcasts, for the most part. And, ask me in a while. I'm pretty sure that I'm done. But many, I think, will return Fox.

    Fox - like all cable networks - is on borrowed time, pb. The reason Trump is such a flashpoint for both parties is mainly because he's a ratings titan with his perpetual ineptitude and corruption. Fox, CNN, MSNBC - all of them are dinosaurs on the way out.
