We're geezers here. Curt, isle, OD and pb should remember Eugene McCarthy and his challenge of LBJ in 1968. I watched LBJ's speech when he declared that he wouldn't seek reelection.
As passionately as our progressive SwampDem cult members here defend "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap," polls have not been kind to the old fart. A recent CNN poll had only 33% of Americans think the Former Trucker should be reelected. USA TODAY has a mere one third of effin DEMS wanting Clouseau to be back for 025.
Enter RFK, Jr..
About 14% of voters who backed President Joe Biden in 2020 say they support Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to results from a USA Today/Suffolk University Poll.
The anti-vaccine activist and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy announced his candidacy Wednesday. He’s already garnered the support of 33% of Biden voters, who now say they disapprove of the job he has done. Kennedy is also backed by 35% of voters who say the current president’s policies are “too liberal,” the polling found.
Back in 020, pb was waaaaaaaaaay disappointed that no serious candidate challenged Trump. There were two no names on the GOP primary ballot in Pennsylvania. I don't remember who I voted for only that I didn't vote for Trump.
You Dems love to fall in line and walk in lockstep. No one can think that RFK, Jr. will win the election. But, what happens if he has strong showings in several of the early primaries and caucuses?
The best thing for America, IMO is that Kennedy shakes things up enough to create a last minute challenge of the Flatulent Fool.
