As much as you wokesters seem to want to pretend this away, the building momentum in American politics is the organized vehemence of the political backlash against progressive LGBT-ism.

Florida. Tennessee. Indiana. Utah. Alabama. Mississippi. Arkansas. Now, Tennessee again.

pt reports 3,000 bills...fascistic, disgusting bills...in this year alone.

What DeSantis began in what the LGBT sanctimones dubbed "Don't say gay" is winning the hearts of voters.

Tennessee House lawmakers have advanced a second bill targeting drag shows in the state, seeking to expand a first-of-its kind law passed last week that criminalizes certain drag performances.

The measure passed Monday on a 72-24 vote along party lines. It now heads to the GOP-controlled state Senate for consideration, where it is expected to pass.

“All we are doing is stating that a permit will be required for adult cabaret performance, which is defined as being harmful to minors,” Doggett said Monday on the House floor, citing a newly passed state law that, beginning April 1, will bar drag performances from taking place within 1,000 feet of public parks, schools or places of worship. “A permit will be required if compensation is received.”

The new law will charge first-time violators with a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a $2,500 fine and up to a year in jail. Any subsequent offenses will be classified as a Class E felony, carrying a maximum six-year prison sentence.

Gang,

People are leaving blue states in droves. Guess where there ending up?

Florida.
Texas. And, effin,...
TENNESSEE!

pb thinks that this law goes too far. It may...MAY...be unconstitutional. But, this is, exactly, the political climate in 023...

...and, based on what pb sees on SS and in the progressive SwampMedia...

...the woke LGBT and LGBT-phile response is to sanctimoniously mock and belittle people who seek political ends at odds with their own.

Fine, but if you want toddlers and children to be exposed to drag shows, that's fine.

This is America. It's your right. But, these days, you're going to have to fight for it.

No more foisting.

"Of the people, by the people and for the people."

I'm not really sure it "unconstitutional." I think it's more chickenshtting the places. There are bars everywhere that have "nights" set aside for whatever. ESPECIALLY a bar, nightclub, etcetcetc shouldn't have to a permit. It's a bar, and by definition it doesn't let kids in. Gimmie a break. They need to look at the intent of the prior law. Not to have kids exposed to drag queens. What does this do? I think the good idea fairy should have been set aside for a bit to see how the initial law is going to go. I think their legislature is getting too far into big brother for my liking. But again, I don't live in the state, so my input is extremely limited.

If it was FL, it would be a hard sell.

    OD,

Agree or disagree, this is an ingenious ploy. It's equating doing drag shows to driving a car or selling booze. Does your state want to create a budget surplus? Require licenses for drag shows.

Stunning political genius! If you're a man who loves getting business from other men? Groovy. In private. If you want to invite a man to dance erotically for your five year old? In private.

But if you want to take the LGBT way into public?, get a license. Don't state/local governments require licenses for straight strip clubs?

There's a lot of political ingenuity emerging from the right...

...and, all the LGBT has ever come up with is advancing through court-based and bureaucratic foisting...

...and shaming the unenlightened. That is not how you "win friends and influence people."

I thought of that. The issue is that Ron doesn't want a "surplus" in the budget. That's why he cut the costs to travel on the highway, they were paid for, so they just need money for upkeep. He took the upkeep dollars for the past 10 years, updated to today's dollar (which is like the DM before WWII) and built off of that. He also cut sales taxes for us (we don't have an income tax so our sales taxes are higher).

In a "normal" state, that's what you would find, and is what I think TN is doing. Earning money... Ron broke through the Southern Dem (LBJ, Byrd), glass ceiling and is conservative for them, but doesn't put up with the 50's policing.

I hate lawyers a lot. One was going to use my son's life to prove a political point. Unfortunately for the JAG, he lived through the dereliction of their duty with 1,500 pieces of shrapnel from my son's belt to the top of his boots, and his boots would set off TSA alarms (we called him lead ass after that). And the JAG did their time "in the zone". DeSantis is a lawyer. But he's been making decisions you couldn't do.

The left only hates him because they've been lied to. I've very clear on that. He's going to turn that into his asset (Sun Tzu) It's the left's weakness. The "Don't say gay bill" has been debunked many times, and yet the sheeple STILL think it's true. Raise your hand if you think that's true.
