Honestly, were it not be for SS, I wouldn't know about this guy. pt, AKA Donna, mentions him as a prominent authority who's tracking the conspiracy of White Evangelicals to take over the world and to create an international Christian theocracy. Bahahahahahahahahahaha. I've been amused since. Frankie, it turns out, is the son of prominent 20th century Christian philosopher Francis Schaeffer. The father would more accurately be called a fundamentalist than an evangelical. But, his books were required reading when pb was in seminary.

Somehow a tweet from Frankie, the son, show up on Lead's, AKA pb's, AKA Hate's, Twitter feed yesterday. Actually, not Frankie exactly. Actually, it was Frank-STOP-Christan-Nationalists-Schaeffer, who did the tweet.

Anyway, Lead found this from Frankie this morning:

"RIP Free speech. 170 schoolbooks on black history and LGBT themes are now banned as part of DeSantis crackdown on 'woke' literature. Meanwhile some 'liberal' colleges are also on a censorship binge to "protect" the religious sensibilities of a few Muslim students offended by art."

Whatamoron.

It's close to time to start identifying DeSantis Derangement Syndrome as a serious mental illness spreading through the lefty world. However, this may not be DDS. It may be that Frankie is, merely, a paranoid freak.

Gang, DeSantis has not banned a single book. He couldn't if he wanted to. Lead's pretty sure DeSantis doesn't want to. And, gang!, how is the "censorship" of "art" out of concern for Muslim sensitivities the work of Christian Nationalists? Oy.

Clearly! This man is a moving intellectual force among the wacked left.

Anyway, Lead immediately began following Frankie as soon as he discovered him on Twitter. pb'll keep SS updated. Frankie speaks for pt...and for isle's Evangelical hate as well.

    Whatamoron.

    Thanks, Donna AKA pt.

    This is so isle!:

Congratulations, evangelicals: You and you alone are responsible for electing the ungovernable far right of the GOP. You have stopped the US government from governing. Now what? Conspiracy theories all the way down? All but two McCarthy defectors in House are election deniers: Revolt reflects the degree to which Republicans who reject or question the 2020 results dominate the GOP caucus and are plunging their party into abject chaos.

    Ban books? Bahahahahahahahahahaha!

  8. by Ponderer on February 15, 2023 6:40 am

Yes... banned, Bill. For all intents and purposes it is the correct word. Please take your asinine, bullshit literal word parsing and shove it up your ass.

Obviously, he hasn't come directly out and declared, "I hereby ban the following books from Florida schools...!", because he didn't have to in order to create the exact same effect as an outright ban.

Voices: I’m a teacher in Florida. Here’s what the DeSantis book bans look like in my classroom

“I’m done! I’m done! What do I do now?” Every teacher, in every classroom, hears this many (thousands) of times daily from their students. In my classroom, for more than a decade, the answer has always been “Get a book and read.” That is until last week when I was told to pack up my classroom library until further notice.

The state of Florida, where I teach, has passed vague laws on what books teachers can and cannot have in their classrooms.

The next day my first group of students entered and immediately asked, ‘Where are all of our books Mrs. Phillips?’ Our books. Not mine, but theirs.

House Bill 1467, signed by Governor DeSantis in March of last year, basically states that schools must be transparent in their selection of instructional, library, and reading materials. Meaning that parents have the right to know what their students are reading and a means to view those materials. All materials must be free of pornography, gender identity issues (for students in Kindergarten through third grade), as well as any books relating to discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin. The books must also be approved by a certificated media specialist.

On the surface, this seems reasonable, but it goes much deeper. The bill does not name specific books to ban, nor a system in which to vet the books. It does, however, come with a fear-mongering threat of a class three felony, which could cause a teacher to lose not only their teaching certificate, but their right to vote as well.

Trump 2.0 and the Republicans are trying to pull this off the same way that they try to ban anything they don't like. They don't come straight out and ban the thing. They make something integral to the thing illegal so that they end up with the exact same effect. It's banning by indirect means. But it is still banning.

They don't ban abortion, they make it impossibly expensive or illegal for a doctor to perform one. Or they enact ridiculous, targeted regulations that no clinic could conform to. Or they declare open season on anyone being able to sue any abortion clinic worker. This sort of bullshit is Standard Republican Playbook for taking people's rights away that they don't want people to have without doing it directly. They terrify people into not doing the thing for fear of legal and/or financial retribution. All while sitting back like stupid assholes going, "Why... we didn't 'ban' anything! The very idea!". Just as you are lamely trying to do here.

It is the Republicans' go-to tactic for banning activities they don't like other people engaging in. It's how they always ban things, Bill. Regardless of what stupid word games you want to play to obfuscate this reality.

"Disallowed from public schools is not banned." -Hate

Again, because apparently you are too stupidly dense to comprehend the fact, legally disallowing, or whatever asinine word play you want to employ, brings about the same exact result as banning. It's the same thing, Bill.

But hey, if it would make you feel more comfortable if I use the word disallow instead of ban from here on, I suppose I can see my way clear to accommodating you since it doesn't matter a damn. In this case, the words mean the exact same thing and are entirely interchangeable.

Trump 2.0 isn't banning books. He's legally disallowing them!

(Geesh that's a ridiculously stupid and meaningless distinction to have to make just for you, but okay...)

I love how your obfuscation literally explodes into any thread that you've had your ass handed to you in.

You made a really stupid assertion and an irrelevant, idiotic distinction. How is that my fault in any way?

And I do not believe that I am superior to you, Bill. I'm simply just not as stupid as you are. It has nothing at all to do with me being sanctimonious or not. You just are what you are. You can't blame any of it on me.

But I get it. Such an idiotic excuse for logic is just a factor of your being a slave to your conservative Republican indoctrination and programming...

Schools want to offer courses that teach about Black history in great detail?
GOP: "They're trying to teach black children to be racist against white people and make white people feel guilty!"

You're just engaging in the same basic Republican asininity to justify and/or obfuscate your immoral racism here.

And I must say that you are a master at it, Bill.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on February 15, 2023 8:59 am

Actually, po. Florida law requires that African American history be taught. As governor, DeSantis is, merely, executing the will of "the people and their representatives" as reflected in Florida law.

But, please. Internalize your DeSantis rage. If he's the GOP nominee, I can see a DDS that makes TDS seem to be a mild form of admiration.

Pondy ~ To be consistent, Hate would probably not want anyone (including himself) to have to acknowledge that the Catholic Church used to have a list of banned books. He’d try to say they weren’t banned, they were only disallowed...

Hate, as usual, attempts to justify what I imagine are his firmly held beliefs through the use of semantics. Beliefs that he, as well as everyone else knows deep inside, are despicable and disgusting,...It’s pathetic but what else can he do? This, I believe accounts in a large part I’m sure, for his insecurity and fears that someone, somewhere, might actually be or feel in some way superior to him. This fear of his sticks out like a sore thumb. As far as I can see, no one else here gives a hoot whether or not someone feels superior to them, or as Hate likes to call those he thinks are better than him “sanctimonious” !

For fukk sake, you couldn't define what the hell you even mean by "Queer Theory" or "Critical Race Theory" to save your despicable, bigoted life, Bill.

Suddenly one day everyone on Fox news starts using a label twenty times per show, and you dutifully start regurgitating it all over the place as if it's supposed to mean something. You don't even care that you don't know what any of that means. You're just blindly opining as you were instructed to.

This is the sort of thing that is such blatant evidence that you are a stupid, bigoted, moronic cult member of the GOP. It's not coming from any "sanctimony" from anyone else. It's just you being a stupid, moronic, bigoted asshole, Bill.

Suddenly one day everyone on Fox news starts using a label twenty times per show,...

Wow! So, you watch, too! How else could you know? How open minded and inclusive of you!!!!! Keeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!

Like it or not, po, Black Queer Theory and CRT were in the College Board African American History syllabus...but they've been removed. So, like the rest of us Fox viewers, you need not worry.

    WHAT was???

You have no idea what was removed or how any of it could have been laughably related to "critical race theory" or "queer theory" in any way.

You have no idea what you are talking about at all. It's that simple. Fox told you to use the word and even they have no idea what they mean by it. But by gum you're gonna use it!

  22. by Ponderer on February 15, 2023 12:14 pm

"Wow! So, you watch, too! How else could you know?" -Hate

No I don't. But something that some MSNBC commentators sometimes do whenever the right suddenly gloms onto a new catchphrase or label to paint the left with is to present a montage of all the Fox people using that phrase or label on their show on the day that the memo went out for them to start using it. It's hysterical!

"Intersectionality" is gonna be the next new one.

(I know that because you have already started using it).

  25. by oldedude on February 16, 2023 8:45 am
So po. What i've been reading at nauseum is that parents have no right to know what their children are learning.

House Bill 1467, signed by Governor DeSantis in March of last year, basically states that schools must be transparent in their selection of instructional, library, and reading materials. Meaning that parents have the right to know what their students are reading and a means to view those materials.

I don't see a problem with parents know what their children are reading. Contrary to your (and pedojoe) know the parents are only the birth people, and it's the school's responsibility to raise the children in whatever way the government want.

I wonder how you come to that since parents are legally bound and responsible for what their children do. And the bill states that from PreK- 3rd grade can not have those classes. So I'm calling bullsht on the yahoo article because if they are aware of a private reading library, that may already be against district or the schools' rules.

"The Florida Parental Rights in Education Act, commonly known as the Don't Say Gay act or as the Don't Say Gay or Trans act, is a Florida state law passed in 2022 that regulates public schools in Florida. The act most controversially and most notably prohibits public schools from having "classroom discussion" or giving "classroom instruction" about sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through to third grade or in any manner deemed to be against state standards in all grades; prohibits public schools from adopting procedures or student support forms that maintain the confidentially of a disclosure by a student, including the confidentially of a disclosure by a student of their sexual orientation or gender identity, from parents; and requires public schools to bear all the costs of all lawsuits filed by aggrieved parents."

But, pt and po, tell me you don't agree with him 100%.

  28. by Ponderer on February 18, 2023 6:46 am

I actually agree with you, olde dude. I do think that parents should have a lot more say in what schools teach their children.

For example, if some racism supporting TV network like Fox feeds some impressionable, racially paranoid white parents a bunch or reactionary, racist lies about certain sentences or names mentioned in certain school books in a school's library or even in the lessons themselves, they should be able to use the false bullshit they have been fed and know absolutely nothing else about to have the government cancel entire state educational system curricula over it.

Additionally, I think that each parent should be supplied a checklist of every single book in their child's school library before their child starts a class so they can check off every book they want banned from their child's classrooms before they start. The lists would be compared and complied from each parent for each classroom that semester and every single offending tome that any parent checked off removed forever. If there are any books left after this purging, those are the only books that the children in that class are free to read.

I also think that each parent should get a list of every teacher their child is going to be in classes with so they can veto any teacher they want and have that teacher replaced in that class with one they choose and approve of.

Each teacher should have a State formulated and assigned rank on a one to ten scale from "1. Extremely far left" to "10. Extremely far right" for the parents to use as a tool to make their choices with. Obviously, the higher the number, the better. Teachers would be put through a series of questions the State has come up with while attached to a lie detector to arrive at their particular political and philosophical rank number. And if just one parent vetoes a teacher in a class, that is all that is required to have that teacher replaced with one who that parent approves of out of a long list of ranked alternatives. I mean, we want everyone to be happy, don't we?

I think these are simple, easily implemented changes that would ensure that every single student gets the absolutely best education that their parents are no longer terrified of them getting.

Republicans have already passed laws that criminalize parents and physicians for treating transgender youth, which IMO is a disgusting and fascistic overreach.

If I had received gender-affirming medical care when I was a youth, my transition would have been more successful, because if you transition after puberty, it's impossible to reverse some secondary sex characteristics like deepening of the voice and enlargement of skeletal structure in males. I envy transgender people who didn't go through normal puberty, which is a rarity when IMO it should be the norm for trans youth who have particularly intense gender dysphoria.

    From Reuters:

Republicans have introduced more than 300 bills in 33 states aiming to limit transgender and wider lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) rights this year, more than double the number of such bills filed in 2022, according to Erin Reed, Alejandra Caraballo and Allison Chapman, a trio of transgender rights advocates tracking the legislation.

In addition to the familiar legislative efforts targeting sports and bathrooms, the emphasis this year is on banning gender-affirming care, the goal of 97 bills in 27 states.

Gender-affirming care covers a variety of treatments, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy and, in exceedingly rare cases for trans people under 18, surgery. Medical associations, which call the bills transphobic, say such healthcare can be life-saving.

In many states, transgender children and their parents have testified against the proposed legislation, describing how gender-affirming care changed their lives and fearing the impact of the bills, which have proliferated even as federal courts blocked bans passed in Arkansas in 2021 and Alabama in 2022.

But many opponents of trans rights believe that the sex assigned at birth is immutable and distrust the prevailing opinions of medical associations with specialties in pediatrics, endocrinology and mental health. They contend the government must intervene to prevent parents and doctors from permanently harming children.

Governors in South Dakota and Utah have already signed into law gender-affirming care bans that state legislatures passed this year.

Bills in Idaho, Missouri and Wyoming would criminalize providing such care as felony child abuse, while measures in Tennessee and Texas would categorize it as abuse under family law.

The Tennessee bill, which would bar doctors from providing gender-affirming care to anyone under the age of 18, passed the state's Republican-led Senate on Monday.

Transgender advocates say such moves are punitive, especially considering the difficulty of getting treatment due to cost, lack of family support or trouble finding a provider.

Why would I tell you that, Bill? He's said nothing in that quote that I don't agree with.

You want to make out like it's a big joke to think that the theocratic right wants to do what it has been obviously and demonstrably working towards doing for several decades now.

But for fukk sake, they have never been all that cryptic about their intentions of what they want to turn this country into, Bill. What is so freakishly and psychotically paranoid about simply noting the observed and expressed intentions of the most theocratically driven of the religious right in this country?

"PAY ATTENTION this is what the US far right GOP Supreme Court and Christian Nationalists who took over the GOP will do here if we let them."

    Truer words were never spoken.

They got Roe, which is something many thought they would never accomplish. They nearly got marriage equality. And they have brazenly declared that this is just the beginning. There is a long list of civil rights that they want taken away from American citizens. You didn't get the memo?

So you think they are about to give up now? When the conservative far right wing is so close to taking power and giving them everything they ever wanted that they can taste it?

  33. by oldedude on February 18, 2023 7:33 am
    Donna-
To me, the issue is more of "experimenting" with many youth. Pre-teens (which is the issue here) transitioning at a whim. To me and many others, "experimenting" is one thing. It's something kids do. Especially pre-adolesce. There are those that say parents are not to be involved with a child transitioning. I think that's wrong. This is not a tattoo (even though my mother would say that tattoos are permanent). This is a life changing event that can't be toyed with. In most states, you have to be 18 to get a tattoo. Even then, tattoo removal is a huge business now. And yet, a tattoo is a small thing compared to changing your gender.

I know that is not your case. I understand that. Like I said before, I would ask for someone to be at least 18 before doctors can start transitioning a person. I know that is tougher than doing it as a child. I consider that a cost and a compromise of the situation. If under 18. By law, the parents should be notified.

  34. by HatetheSwamp on February 18, 2023 7:39 am

    po,

My response to pt was on point and cogent.

I see, regularly, accounts in the press, of people who have completed "gender affirming care" only now to realize how disastrous a mistake they made. It's a bell that can not be unrung.

Heck. Most states don't let minors get tattoos. Why should society give carte blanche to "gender affirming" care to minors?

For me, this is like a psychology course and this is the lab where we get to observe how religious zealots, the far right conservatives and the current crop of MAGA Republicans and Trump supporters try to rationalize and justify their positions.

Admittedly it can sometimes feel frustrating but it’s also fascinating to see them in action ! 🍻

You mean your response that attempted to equate a trans child being allowed to transition to a minor being allowed to buy cigarettes...?

    You're a f--king moron, Bill.

As you know, po, Curt will be busted for your F bomb. You did it to him, not to me.

What I did was to note that we, as a people, have a unique and special responsibility to our youth. Which, we do.

"I see, regularly, accounts in the press, of people who have completed "gender affirming care" only now to realize how disastrous a mistake they made. It's a bell that can not be unrung." -Hate

It is a tiny fraction of people who receive gender reassignment surgery who were never properly psychologically vetted for such a procedure in the first place.

While for the entirety of trans youth who would absolutely benefit from such procedures and go on to lead a happy life because of it, taking that care away from them would be a disastrous mistake that the State will have forced upon them. That bell ain't gonna be un-wrung either, Bill.

I'm curious, Bill... Do you believe that any surgery a minor, their parents, and their doctors might decide they need that doesn't have a 100% effectiveness and zero negative side effects should be against the law? Or just gender reassignment surgery?

"Why should society give carte blanche to "gender affirming" care to minors?" -Hate

Straw man. No one is saying society should give "carte blanche" to gender affirming care.

You make it sound like the first and only thing that a surgeon ever asks of a person requesting gender reassignment surgery is, "Have you had anything to eat or drink in the last twelve hours?".

    You're a blithering moron, Bill.

"To me, the issue is more of "experimenting" with many youth. Pre-teens (which is the issue here) transitioning at a whim. To me and many others, "experimenting" is one thing. It's something kids do. Especially pre-adolesce." - olde dude

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, od. I may not always agree with you, but I appreciate the efforts you usually put into your posts.

To your point above, if a pre-teen youth is just experimenting with presenting theirself as the other sex, I don't see any harm in that. Back when I was at that age in the 60s, I could only fantasize about that -- which I did practically every day -- because of the taboo. Hopefully some day it won't be taboo.

But if the gender dysphoria is so severe that medical professionals are brought in, there is no experimentation, or at least there isn't supposed to be by their own standards.

  41. by oldedude on February 18, 2023 10:21 am
Okay. I'm not adverse to living as the other gender as a preteen at all. So be it. That might be a good way to see what it's all about and the issues involved. I think parents should be able to be a part of the decisions until the kid is 18. I do understand there are parents out there that are horribly opposed to that. I got it. Once the kid is 18, that's a decision they can legally make.

If you notice, the laws are about preadolescents specifically. Of course, on the right, there are now many, many stories about kids that were transitioned and now want it reversed. I'm not convinced that's a norm at all, so I just kind of listen and shrug it off.

I lived in Southern Colorado as a kid in the 60's/ 70's. That is near Trinidad, where they did a lot of the surgical transitions. I do remember the "requirements" at the time.

🥂, od. I see nothing at all wrong with that opinion, and I share it.

  43. by Ponderer on February 18, 2023 10:35 am

I also believe that if the parents agree with the experts who they've consulted and who have analyzed that their child psychologically qualifies for a monitored reassignment process, it should be legal for them to proceed with it.

Is that something that you'd agree with, od?

  44. by HatetheSwamp on February 19, 2023 3:37 am

As a general rule, I think that elective surgery should not be performed on minors?

What pt posted that launched this:

Republicans have already passed laws that criminalize parents and physicians for treating transgender youth, which IMO is a disgusting and fascistic overreach.

This is part of a larger issue. Whether pt and po, and other LGBTers like it or not, lots of "grooming" of children has been busted...often, but not exclusively, through public schools. You can pretend the grooming away...or lie about it, but I follow Libs of TikTok. All that stuff is real! Teachers and other LGBTers interfere with the relationship between parents and children every effin day! Often the grooming is what's really "disgusting and [Big Brother] fascistic.

What pt calls "disgusting and fascistic" measures, it seems to me, is, often, a necessary and reasonable response, initiated by parents whose Parental Rights are being abused.

I understand that this is a complex issue but, honestly, it's the LGBT community that started it. Remote learning during Covid started most of it. Libs of TikTok reveals it daily.

pb is the libertarian here and he fears that the backlash will be excessive. But to suggest that any response to what those "wascally Wepublicans" are doing, as pt suggests, is unwarranted. It's what's extreme.

  51. by HatetheSwamp on February 19, 2023 6:55 am

Good question, Donna. And, I think that if anything good comes out of the brouhaha over this energetic exercise of the power of "democracy" as GOPs propose what disgusts you, it would be a consensus between the two sides of what's appropriate and what's grooming.

Go to Libs of TikTok and watch about a month of it. It's not all LGBT insanity, but some is.

    That's grooming.

  52. by Ponderer on February 19, 2023 7:05 am

  54. by islander on February 19, 2023 7:10 am

Donna, I’ve asked some of those on the right what grooming means and like Hate, they couldn’t give a clear answer. I then asked them if the teachers themselves know they are grooming their student to become “whatever it is” they are supposed to be grooming them for...again no clear explanation.

  55. by Donna on February 19, 2023 7:16 am

Not surprising. They just repeat what they hear on wingnut media outlets that are now on record admitting that they intentionally lie to their audiences.

This is exactly how nations fall to fascism. They can't see that though, because the politicians and media figures they get their information from do such an excellent job grooming them.

  56. by islander on February 19, 2023 7:18 am

”In this case, it don't matter how superior you imagine yourself to be.” ~ Hate

“I” don’t think I’m superior, but it’s obvious that you feel threatened that I might be.

I think that’s all part of the paranoia that frightens so many on the right into believing that our kids are somehow being groomed for something by a nefarious and clever group in our society, and unfortunately those fears are easily stoked.

  57. by HatetheSwamp on February 19, 2023 7:25 am

    What Libs of TikTok is:

(Lead's sure that Rachel pretends it away.)

Normally, it's a sentence of description, maybe two, followed by a brief video produced by some woke person, usually related to LGBT extremes, in which woke LGBTers offend the vast majority of the population by their own words and deeds.

It's 100% your side being your side. It is unbelievably powerful. It motivates and informs the people writing and supporting the disgusting and fascist laws working their way through our legislatures, through the "democratic" Bahahahahahahahahahaha process.

Your side, so far as I know, never disavows any of the woke offense brought to light. Your side only attempts to cancel.

There's no way pb's description can do it justice. Here's a recent tweet:

    twitter.com

  58. by Donna on February 19, 2023 7:33 am

Outside of the word's primary use pertaining to hygiene, until recently the term "grooming" was used exclusively to describe the activities of pedophiles, which is precisely why Republican operatives started using it to describe public school teachers who teach their students to be accepting and loving towards their classmates who might be different from them with regards to their sexual identities or preferences. It's a mind trick Republican operatives started employing to make Republican voters think of those teachers as pedophiles. The Nazis employed the same tactics with regard to Jewish people. Classic dehumanization.

  59. by Donna on February 19, 2023 7:42 am

Sheri and I watched that Twitter video.

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant satire!

So that teacher, in your view, is grooming his students for what exactly, Hts?

  60. by HatetheSwamp on February 19, 2023 7:57 am

Not grooming. I suggested that you watch about a month's worth. That was one of the longer videos. It won't take long.

    Go ahead. Laugh. Please.

But, every time your gut wrenches, remember. The people writing those disgusting and fascistic laws attacking the woke agenda, including all aspects of the LGBT community, get a substantial degree of understanding of who you are from two realities:

    1. Real life woke people appear as themselves in those videos, and,
    2. Y'nes never criticize anyone in those videos who's woke you only on try to cancel it.

Please laugh. Please please please please. Be just as sanctimonious as you are able to be. Mock. Belittle. Guffaw. But remember that, with each video, fuel is being added to the fire.

Lots of those disgusting and fascistic bills will become law...due, to some measure to Libs of TikTok...while you're laughing.

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha, ahhhhhhhhhhh.

  61. by Donna on February 19, 2023 7:58 am

LOL! So you have no idea what you mean by "grooming"!

  62. by HatetheSwamp on February 20, 2023 3:10 am

    Grooming?

I'm supposing that you're claiming that parents are never justified in thinking that the prerogatives granted to them by nature are often abused in public schools.

It's true. In this context, Lead is using a very broad definition of grooming.

What I believe you and your side are going to have to accept is that the people who propose and support those "disgusting and fascistic" bills are gaining control of the narrative. What they see with their own eyes on Libs of TikTok reinforces their belief...and motivates them with white hot intensity. Many of those bills will become law...while you mock and sneer because we don't even know what grooming is.

They, effin I, hope that you continue to be as sanctimonious as you have been!

No. What episode of Tucker were you fed that irrelevant horseshit obfuscation? Donna is claiming nothing like that, but then you know that.

She's asserting the reality that by all appearances and responses you have ever made to the question, you are completely ignorant of the actual meaning of a term that you have based your entire policy opinion on.

Essentially, what you are doing is claiming that all of the students in Florida need to be denied learning certain things because of... well, because........ Because of that thing you and all the other MAGA Hats can't even begin to fukking define. But boy oh boy yeah it sure is a THING alright I tell ya what by cracky!

It's this sort of mindless lemming bullshit that makes you and so many other MAGA Hats such bigoted, self-centered, sociopathic assholes, Bill.

Why not just tell us what "grooming" means in the context of how you and the Republicans are using it? Put us in our place! A former Evansville preschool teacher accused in August of molesting a student is behind bars again after prosecutors charged him with two additional child sexual abuse offenses.

A California biology teacher has been arrested for allegedly molesting seven students and sharing graphic photos online, authorities said.

Anessa Paige Gower, 35, is facing 29 separate criminal counts over the alleged abuse that occurred when she was teaching at Making Waves Academy in Richmond, the Costa District Attorney’s Office said.

  67. by Ponderer on February 20, 2023 7:20 am

I see. And this is behavior that you believe the Florida school board is supporting and wanting spread throughout their educational system?

So you actually believed all that to be a cogent, relevant come-back?

Those people were criminals who violated the law and should be prosecuted and imprisoned if found guilty. None of those cases have the slightest thing to do with this whole bullshit "grooming" nonsense. I'm kida shocked that you think they do. But then, like all other Republicans need to, you just want to equate pedophilia with students being taught that there are people in the world who are different than they are.

od, you should probably go back to whatever right wing propaganda school you went to and take a refresher course on "Obfuscation". Because you are doing it so incredibly lamely here that you look like a moronically dumb boob.

Oh hey...! While I got you here, could you give poor Hate a hand?

Could you tell us for him what the definition of "grooming" is? He's perfectly ignorant of what the term he's constantly using means and he's too afraid to just come out and admit his total ignorance about it. You'd save him a lot more embarrassment if you could just tell us what it means so he doesn't have to. 'Cuz I'm not letting up on him until some Republican here does.

Come on, od. Be a pal! Hate will really appreciate it. Tell us what "grooming" means, as you and he have been constantly using it in here?

  68. by oldedude on February 20, 2023 7:37 am
Grooming is a sociopathic act that uses the victim. Grooming in this case, is the action by a pedophile of preparing a child for a meeting, especially via an internet chat room, with the intention of committing a sexual offense:

I would expand that in to also being groomed by other sociopaths, serial killers, etc.

Pondy ~ I think you are getting somewhere in your efforts to get them to explain what they mean by grooming and why they don’t want it as a part of the school curriculum in FL, and it makes sense to me. Check out the links that od provided regarding child molestation.

The grooming they don’t want would consist of a course that teaches a child to accept being molested by a pedophile as this is normal and healthy... I wouldn’t want that to be part of any school curriculum either.

However...I think they are living in La-La land if they really believe this is or was part of any curriculum being taught in FL (or anywhere else).

  72. by oldedude on February 21, 2023 4:33 am
I agree with that. I don't think it's part of any curriculum for several reasons. I think the access in the curriculum gives the opportunity for grooming to happen.

The fact teachers do not have to discuss anything that happens at school with the parents is a big one. Grooming is a psychological issue of power that generally follow the preference of the groomer. That's what groomers do. "we can keep this a secret." "Don't tell your parents, they'll get mad." That sort of thing. Given those rules, the groomer doesn't have to resort to anything else to keep the victim quiet.

Pedos are found in the elementary schools, and "maybe" in middle schools. This is a very misunderstood sex preference. Gays preferred sex is the same gender. Pedos preferred gender are little kids (pre-pubescent or gracile) of either gender. Very, very different things. Please don't confuse the two.

Once the "kids" get to high school (or mature in middle schools), things change, Although the rules in the schools are the same. This is where groomers get access to more mature "little adults." This is where you don't find the pedos, and is not limited by gender or gender preference (meaning both males and females are groomers, and victims).

Generally, while the victim is being groomed, there's little realization they are being groomed. Once out of the situation, females are more likely to understand how the grooming happened.

  73. by HatetheSwamp on February 21, 2023 4:54 am

    OD,

Grooming at its worst is a horrible thing. I imagine even pt and po would agree.

What they, very cleverly, attempt is to call only the most atrocious acts of grooming, grooming. They want to foist that understanding on the rest of us. In the past, that might have worked. But, the Florida law is reasonable. It attacks the agenda the LGBT community wants us to buy into. The majority of people support its provisions.

This is a killer for the LGBT agenda. The LGBT community knows it. Hence, the ongoing hissies.

The DeSantis slogan, WHERE WOKE GOES TO DIE, I think, is a winning slogan for 024...more powerful than Make America Great Again was in 016. What died first in Florida was LGBT grooming...

...and, the LGBT world knows it.

BTW, you probably saw that Nikki Haley has said that the Florida law doesn't go far enough. She makes a good argument.

    independent.co.uk

  74. by oldedude on February 21, 2023 5:45 am
I agree with that. You ought to see it down here. Some of the private schools are actually advertising open classrooms, parental involvement welcomed and encouraged, etc. Parents actually want to be involved with their children (I know it's an odd concept for some), and still take responsibility for raising them.

Relative to Nikki, this is the piece that makes DeSantis a really good politician. He doesn't have to listen to squat the dims say. He's got all three branches. And yet, he listens to them. Creates a compromise and goes with that. We still have some of the most ardent sheep that are around and compromise as good as isle, but the rest understand the state.

That was one of the premises for my post on Ukraine earlier that indy isle didn't understand. This is a role reversal in our system. One of the most interesting facets is the right is tired of playing by the old rules and playing by the sheeple rules. Cancel "them" before they get started, whatever it takes.

Violence is okay. You'll have people that will ALWAYS tow the line of the party and protect you.

They burned down cities when they don't like the outcome of an election and Used violence to try taking over SCOTUS hearings. We spent 1.5 hours in the capital.

They shoot our Congresspersons and attempt to kill SCOTUS and their families. Well, so far it hasn't come to that.

Uh. The Frankster forgot that the real enabler is James Madison for his evil Bill of Rights!!!!!

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha

And stoopid parents who know that handguns are the tools of the gansta drug trade and don't think twice to have them laying around.

Sorry, I'm really late on this, but I think it was answered maybe in another thread.

"Disallowed from public schools is not banned." -Hate
So here's the truth of it. Some books were moved from elementary schools to Jr high. Books talking about how the person did oral sex on another was moved. How it felt to be penetrated was moved. Basically, if it couldn't be read in a school board meeting, it got moved. As was "catcher in the Rye" years ago. The sheep completely banned "Tom Sawyer," "Huck Finn," "Uncle Tom's Cabin," "Freiheit 451," "Animal Farm," and many others. So the libbles need to get off of it.

"Biden said the International Criminal Court is “justified” in issuing an arrest warrant for Putin, who has “clearly committed war crimes.” Meanwhile evangelical MAGA "Americans" support Putin's mass kidnapping of children because... he hates gay people too!"

    Frankie's a hater and a fool.

From the guy who supports the party that has weaponized the DOJ the FBI and, now the Manhattan DA.

"The new GOP issue that has replaced their war on abortion rights is their war on "woke." This attack suited to a party that exists only to campaign, with no interest in actually governing. I mean what the hell is anti-woke policy on Medicare or social security or bank regulation?"

  90. by HatetheSwamp on March 26, 2023 6:09 am

    What a supercilious, sanctimonious snob.

"George Will 81 is someone I know personally. He edited the National Review, won a Pulitzer in 1977, was described by the WSJ as “perhaps the most powerful journalist in America” and quit the Republican party over Trump in 2016. The old GOP once had some decent humans in it."

  91. by HatetheSwamp on March 26, 2023 6:23 am

What a self-satisfied, supercilious, sanctimonious snob!

How inflammatory. To suggest that your political opponents are unpatriotic and indecent is the stuff of the Nazis.

"In case you are wondering here's an actual fact: Patriotic decent Americans outnumber Trump supporters 3 to 1."

  92. by oldedude on March 26, 2023 6:52 am
Don't forget those willing to die to uphold the Constitution and the US. Just to get back "home" to get spit on by the sheep. While they burn down cities and whine when they have a group that stands up to them.

The interesting thing is one of the racist Proud Boys is Black, another Hispanic. The Black guy copped the biggest sentencing out of J6. So they're the racists.

Is Frankie reporting that the trans Nashville murderer was a white nationalist NRA member?

    Seems so. Watch the video.

"Three 9-year-olds and three adults: The victims who lost their lives killed by the gun lobby, the NRA and their Republican "justices" on the Supreme Court. Republicans are mass shooters. enabling is the same thing as pulling the trigger."

    Donna here.

Bumping this thread to the top. This is the thread where I made my comment (comment #29), "Republicans have already passed laws that criminalize parents and physicians for treating transgender youth, which IMO is a disgusting and fascistic overreach", which Hts, being the liar he is, continues to whine about out of context, even after I re-posted my full comment in context to prove that he's lying.

  95. by HatetheSwamp on April 18, 2023 8:34 am

    Really? What's HatetheSwamp's lie?

So, did InsaneFrankie get the adjective "fascistic" from you or vice-versa?

Have you noticed? Frankie put some genuinely bigoted, insane NRA rants on Twitter this morning. In fact, I was just about to post one.

I love moving his moronism to the top of the SS pile. Thanks.

But, please, fill me in on the lie...

  96. by Ponderer on April 18, 2023 8:45 am

    Go fuck yourself.

  97. by HatetheSwamp on April 18, 2023 9:32 am

    po/pt?,

You truly are Curt's effin friend.

    What's HatetheSwamp's lie?

    Actually, that was Donna!

Sadly, pt's succumbed to your influence and gone to the dark side.

    Donna here.

You force people to be abrasive with you. We're just giving you what you want.

Of course your lie is that contrary to your accusations that my remarks were "unqualified" and for "all" anti-trans legislation, they were about a specific part of a law that was passed.

But you already knew that. You're just being a dick.

You love all this attention we're giving you though, right? This is what you want. What a miserable life you must be living where you're so attention-starved, you'll say anything to get it.

Maybe you should look into getting a part-time job or something.

    Fair enuff, pt.

Explain to me how this is a lie:

"pt calls "fascistic and disgusting" all legislation proposed to protect, from trans activist abuse, the rights of mommies and daddies wanting to oversee their kiddies' education.

  104. by HatetheSwamp on April 21, 2023 1:10 pm

    From the ol Frankster hisself:

"Please join me on MSNBC tonight at 7 PM (EST) with Joy Reid talking about Christian Nationalism. Thanks!"

  105. by HatetheSwamp on May 12, 2023 3:47 am

Ol Frankie's a world class hater. I always think it's interesting to note what a hater decides to go bonkers over. Frankie's famous here for his vile hate of evangelical Christians. He believes that they're plotting to take over the world and create a theocracy, apparently.

But, it turns out, he's equally obsessed with Donald Trump:

"During the Nazi era, Riefenstahl was the regime’s most skilled propagandist for fascism. Today CNN is a propagandist for violent fascist rapist Trump. If you still work for CNN you are a bad person. If you go on CNN now you are a bad person. Any questions?"

"The Trump campaign appears to have got what it wanted out of the CNN town hall in part because it negotiated the terms of the event with an unusual degree of leverage to hand pick the MAGA audience. If you still work for CNN this AM what happened to your soul?"

"In the wake of Donald Trump's town hall special on CNN this Wednesday night, E. Jean Carroll says she's considering whether to file another defamation suit against Trump for defaming her yet again."
