The Ukrainians have caused the Russian military to turn tail and run. The Ukrainian military success wouldn't have happened if Biden hadn't championed Ukraine's cause and supplied them with weaponry and military intelligence. Btw, the war isn't over. However, this is challenging the widely held assumption that Russia would inevitably win this war. Many western nations were holding back their aid to Ukraine as it seemed it was a lost cause.

Imagine if Trump were still president. We know what he thought of his buddy Putin and Russia's invasion and occupation of Ukraine. We know how Trump treated President Zellenskyy in Trump's "perfect phone call".

(Politico 02/23/2022)Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday described Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine as “genius” and “savvy,” praising his onetime counterpart for a move that has spurred sanctions and universal condemnation from the U.S. government and its trans-Atlantic allies.

“I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,” Trump said in a radio interview with “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.” “He used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.”

Running in a close second place are the blessed people of Afghanistan, in the wake of "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" withdrawal thatwasan"extraordinary success."

  2. by islander on September 12, 2022 6:03 am

What? Has Russia invaded Afghanistan again?...Or was this a case of the Afghan people fighting among themselves?

  3. by HatetheSwamp on September 12, 2022 6:34 am

It's a case of "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" inept, brainless weakness in handing Afghanistan back to the Taliban and Al Qaeda that Putin took as an invitation to move against Ukraine. And, were it not for the European members of NATO, Russia would own it.

Does anybody doubt that if the 160,000 Afghans who were supposedly promised that they could live in the United States were all brought over here when Biden ended our occupation there that HtS and other conservatives would complain? They'd be mad at Biden for allowing so many Muslim immigrants into our "Christian nation".

  5. by HatetheSwamp on September 12, 2022 10:23 am

You mean the mostly unvetted crowd as opposed to the thousands who risks their lives and their families' lives to support us and were promised that the US doesn't leave anyone behind...

    ...whom we left behind?

  6. by islander on September 12, 2022 1:16 pm

Trump's praise of Putin back in Feb for invading Ukraine, calling Putin a genius and savvy is just one more thing the Trump MAGA Republicans would prefer to forget, especially those running for office in November...But the American people will not forget !!

  7. by HatetheSwamp on September 12, 2022 3:44 pm

I was listening to that interview with Clay and Buck. He didn't praise Putin.

  8. by Curt_Anderson on September 12, 2022 4:08 pm
    HtS,
You listened to Clay & Buck but missed Trump praising Putin? Here it is...

  9. by HatetheSwamp on September 12, 2022 4:27 pm

Trump didn't praise Putin. He said that what he did was genius...

...the point being that "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" is a dementia-ridden piece of crap...

    ...and that Putin is smarter.

    And, Trump's right.

    And, Putin is.

  10. by islander on September 12, 2022 4:30 pm
    Curt,

Trump has also declared himself to be a stable genius so it’s little wonder that he sees Putin calling Ukraine 'independent' as justification for Russia’s invasion as pure genius. Like he said (being such a savvy guy himself), he knows Putin very well so he thinks Putin is very savvy too ! LoL

  11. by Curt_Anderson on September 12, 2022 4:32 pm
That's an interesting take. When people say that something I did was genius or say that I'm a genius, I take it as a compliment. I also consider words like "savvy" to complimentary.

McCarthy breaks with Trump on Putin: Russian leader not ‘savvy,’ ‘genius’
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), in a rare break with former President Trump, said Wednesday he doesn’t think Russian President Vladimir Putin’s moves leading up to the invasion of Ukraine were “savvy” or “genius.”

“I do not think anything savvy or genius about Putin,” McCarthy said at a press conference in the Capitol.

I hate being put into the position of defending Trump but TDS is TDS.

    TDS is TDS.

  14. by islander on September 13, 2022 6:25 am

Some of the most recognizable behavioral abnormalities of those suffering from TDS (commonly called Trump derangement syndrome) can readily be observed by watching and listening to Trump’s defenders and enablers.

  15. by oldedude on September 13, 2022 7:05 pm
And listening to them talk about him.

Yeah, I'd say you should turn yourself to a psych ward.

  16. by islander on September 14, 2022 4:47 am

And it's not just observing people with TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) that make their abnormal behavior easily recognized, listening to them when they talk about him is also a dead giveaway.

They live in a strange sort of bizarre fantasy reality, but to them, they believe their fantasies are real !

Exactly why we say you hate discussions, Bill. What else are we to think when you do nothing but this sort of asinine bullshit while trying to destroy them? You haven't made a single comment dealing with the subject of this thread anywhere in it. You've done nothing in this discussion but defend your Mango Messiah. Like the vast majority of everything you post is meant to do.

And spare us the ludicrously lame-ass denials...

You fukking love it. Or you wouldn't do it so constantly.

I despise Trump. I support Ron DeSantis for President.
