I'm glad it's working out for you and Evie.
SCAN used to only be available in CA. I signed up for it when I turned 65 last August. Starting Jan 1st this year, SCAN became available in NV and AZ, which worked out perfectly for me when we moved to AZ last December.
SCAN in Arizona is called SCAN Desert Health Plan. It includes some vision and dental coverage. I haven't used the vision coverage yet, but a couple of weeks ago I used the dental coverage for the first time. It covers full x-rays and basic cleaning. I was a bit nervous how much work I'd need because I hadn't had a check-up in about a decade (we didn't have coverage and were trying to cut back on our expenses). As it turned out, I got out of there for $195. My teeth needed more than basic cleaning - lotsa tartar. I was surprised that I didn't have any cavities. I have 2 back teeth that are badly chipped that'll cost $780 each to crown, but I'm not going to get them fixed now because we can't afford it.

Donna,
That money Evie and I wrote about earlier is still under our mattress.
