Two things bother me.
The first is "rewriting" history. It's done all over US history. We've made many mistakes in our history. We all need to learn what those mistakes are/were and work to correct them. Tearing down statutes is stoopid. It does nothing but to isolate, split, and entice people to harbor anger. I read Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Br'er Rabbit and the other Uncle Remus stories. My family actually sat down and talked about them. We talked about slavery and racism. We're a day's drive from Sand Creek, and a couple of hours (if you drive slow) from Ludlow. We learned about both of those in school. We discussed them.
The second thing. I do remember Selma, and Atlanta, and MLK Jr. I took his words throughout my life. I've been supervised by, or supervised every race, lots of gender identities, and religions. None of them bothered me. I learned quickly to treat a person by the character of their soul, not the color of their skin or who or what they worshiped or whom they loved. None of these were my concern. I cared about them doing the right thing.
Now I'm told that all that was wrong. The answer from me is no. Simply no. I will still look at a person's character and judge them.

"Parents shouldn't be telling schools they can't teach CRT in classrooms""
funny, didn't you tell me the same thing? That parents should not worry about what their children are learning at school? That "school boards" know better than parents about what their children should learn? So what happens when the NEA is run by white supremists and NAZIs? Perhaps shades of the "Man in the High Tower?" But maybe you're really in a compound near the ID border...
Both of these violate what the founders wanted. Both of these are what the constitutionalists are against. You don't get that do you? We don't want history re-created by political morons. We want it factual so we
"Must have a code that you can live by
And so, become yourself
Because the past is just a goodbye
Teach your children well
Their father's hell did slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by..."
