EXCLUSIVE: Tampa, Fla.– Former President Donald Trump dominated the 2024 GOP presidential nomination straw poll at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit Sunday, Fox News has learned.

TPUSA polled conference attendees—youth activists from around the country—who they would vote for in 2024 if Trump decided to launch another White House run. The straw poll was sponsored by Turning Point Action, the affiliated 501(c)(4) of TPUSA.

78.7% attendees said they would vote for Trump.

Does anyone know that the J6 Committee is holding prime time televised Show Trial hearings?

Apparently, not everyone.

A straw poll is a decidedly unscientific poll of political extremists who volunteered their opinions. Essentially meaningless. Fox & friends apparently read the company memo. Trump won't be able to count on getting free publicity and free promotion from Murdoch-owned media this time. Call it the January 6th Committee effect.

Former President Trump tore into Fox News’s flagship morning program on Monday, lashing out at its hosts for their coverage of his polling as he eyes another run for president in 2024.

“@foxandfriends just really botched my poll numbers, no doubt on purpose,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, the social network platforming he started after leaving office. “That show has been terrible — gone to the ‘dark side.’ They quickly quote the big Turning Point Poll victory of almost 60 points over the number two Republican, and then hammer me with outliers.”

Trump was referencing the network’s coverage of a new Turning Point USA poll, released on Sunday, that showed the former president well ahead of every other potential Republican primary challenger.

“That is a little different than a couple of other polls we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks,” host Steve Doocy said, referencing other national polling that has shown Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) ahead of Trump in several age demographics. “So it’s like the young people who are activists at that [Turning Point] event like the former president, but looking at these other polls, different answer.”

Co-host Brian Kilmeade added, “If you look state by state, Ron DeSantis is showing tremendous strength in New Hampshire, Michigan and Florida.”

    Curt,

Fox and Trump have been at odds since before the 020 election.

OrangeMan likes some Fox personalities but not the network. Really, bubba. Old news

Old news? Then why is Trump just claiming today that FOX & Friends have gone over to "the dark side"?

Maybe you don't see it, but I detect a reduction in positive Trump news coverage from once-friendly conservative media. I thank the January 6 committee for their fine investigative work.

Are you arguing, now, that Trump is rational? If so, when did you change your opinion?

My memory is that Brian Kilmeade has been one of Trump's Fox pets. Gutfeld and he.

Trump makes improbable claim that it was "a friend" who suggested that no one in American history has been as persecuted as he has been.

"A friend of mine once said that I was the most persecuted person in the history of our country," he said at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday. "I never thought of it that way. I never had time. I was always fighting these people that were trying to persecute me."

He doubled down: "I didn't have time to think about getting persecuted because I was fighting persecution," continuing to add, "Certainly, there's been no politician or president treated like I've been treated."
