So, gang, I watched a nice chunk of the coverage of the rally and nearly all of the speech.
As always, the crowd was humongous and fanatically enthusiastic. If you think that the J6 hearings have impacted Trump's base, you're correct. But, MAGAs and Ultra-MAGAs are more enthusiastic than ever.
On the J6 hearings, Trump was almost entirely mute. On the 020 election and election integrity he was verbose.
Incidentally, Trump's tone was not as offensive as it's been. To say that he was somber, would be ridiculous, but, for Trump...
Kevin McCarthy has been suggesting that, in the fall, after the primaries, the GOPs are going to publish a campaign document. He's not saying this but pb is, along the lines of the 94 CONTRACT WITH AMERICA.
The bulk of Trump's speech highlighted those red meat GOP issues...and there are many. American military might, the border, inflation, gas prices, the Green New Deal, crime, public schools foisting the woke agenda on children, and much more.
Interestingly, Trump mentioned Ukraine and Putin but just barely.
Also, as I've hinted, he was curiously silent on the J6 Committee hearings. They, clearly, ain't an issue with MAGAs and Ultra-MAGAs...as much as woke progressives follow them like their grandma's used to hang on every episode of THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
I came away despairing that Trump seems to me to be extremely well positioned to win the GOP nomination, based on who will participate in GOP 024 primaries.
