What fascinates me these days is watching Dems try to figure out what to do with and about the Doddering Old Fool.

Curt is what the One called a "bitter clinger." Dems, by the ton, are separating themselves from President Clouseau but not Curt.

Curt, when will you see sense? Will you ever?

President Biden is finding himself largely powerless to address a spate of setbacks in recent weeks that have sparked alarm among Democrats about the state of the country.

“It’s infuriating,” said one top Democratic strategist, venting frustrations about Biden and his team. “Our house is on fire and it seems like they’re doing nothing to put the fire out. They’re just watching it with the rest of us.”

Speaking about the Biden administration’s inaction on abortion, Bakari Sellers, the political commentator and former member of the South Carolina state House, put it this way Friday on CNN: “I’m not sure what he’s doing. I can tell you what he ain’t doing.”

“We have been sounding the alarm about this for a long time,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.) tweeted in the wake of the Supreme Court’s abortion decision. “Some may want to go after the messenger, but we simply cannot make promises, hector people to vote, and then refuse to use our full power when they do. We still have time to fix this and act. But we need to be brave.”

White House aides dispute the idea that Biden is not fighting to address issues like climate change, abortion rights, gun violence and inflation. They pointed to his ambitious legislative proposals, executive actions he’s taken on guns, climate and voting rights, and his willingness to call for filibuster carveouts in the Senate, something he had not done on the campaign trail.

pb just wants to say to all you Dems that he told you so.

pb knows how people with dementia behave. Both his parents died with it. They lived the last years of their lives in the dementia area of their nursing facility.

pb splained the ways it's obvious that Joe Biden has lost his brain. It's obvious to the members of his party that's he's useless. He's a burden to the party. He's already done more harm than good.

Yesterday, Biden was in Ohio and Tim Ryan, the Senate candidate, in a race he has a chance to win, decided he didn't have time to appear with his party's president.

"The Democratic candidates for Ohio senator and governor were nowhere to be found Wednesday as President Biden visited Cleveland — an indicator of the commander in chief’s political toxicity as the longtime battleground state moves firmly into the Republican column." (See link)

Stunningly, even though the Dem party is treating Joe like a leper, many of you refuse to see the light.

Oy.

Yass, yass, I am sure you are upset Biden isn't doing more to undo the recent Supreme Court decision and make abortions more easily obtainable again. The Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's of the world have a juvenile understanding of the role of the presidency. When it suits their purposes and interests they want the presidency to rule like a king by edict.

If AOC and that bunch were smarter they'd realize that's a recent decision on Roe v Wade is an opportunity for Democrats and that Biden should not do anything to ameliorate the situation before the midterm elections.

    No. I'm giddy.

But, don't you think it matters that Dems running for office avoid the Former Truck Driver like he has the plague?

Regardless of party, presidents and their parties lose congressional seats. So, no I don't think it matters. Members of Congress should run on the issues they can control with a focus on local issues.

They also need to be realistic about what the President can and cannot control. In addition to abortion, there is sniping that Biden hasn't done more to get Britney Greiner released from Russian jail. Not that anybody is offering any ideas or a magic wand.

It's not just "AOC and the bunch" who are complaining that Biden isn't doing enough to counter the reactionary SC's Roe ruling. There was essentially a mutiny.

    Biden finally listened.

In fact AOC just praised Biden for agreeing with her and many other Congressional Democrats' call to elimate the filibuster in order to codify what the reactionary SC justices struck down.

Except the filibuster won't be eliminated no matter what Biden's opinion is. That's a good thing.

There is the strong likelihood that the Republican will control the Senate. The Democrats will then want to have the 60 vote rule and filibuster to curtail the Republicans and their rightwing agenda.

If the Democrats hold onto control of the Senate, the Republicans won't be able to advance their agenda... at least not through the legislative branch.

Btw, Nancy Pelosi, who isn't a member of "that bunch" also supports ending the filibuster.

Honestly. Sincerely, I hope you're happy. Joe spoke the words, but what does he ever DO that matters!!!!!?

I doubt the GOPs will take the Senate in 022 but, if they do, Mitch can drop the filibuster rule faster than he can belch, if he wants to...

...but, you're right. It's the Senate Dems who make those sea change rules, for instance, Harry Reid dropping cloture on Judges. GOPs jumped all over that once it was done.

GOPs won't drop the filibuster. Take it to the bank.
