Maybe, just maybe, the GOP is beginning to see the dismal results of electing and enabling someone like Trump to be the leader of their party. Let us all hope so !!

Excerpt from Heather's letter today:

"The U.S. has swung against Russia after years in which members of the Republican Party in particular have spoken admiringly of Russian president Vladimir Putin’s strength and commitment to so-called conservative values. Former vice president Mike Pence was expected to try to open up some space between Putin and the Republicans, telling a gathering of Republican donors tonight, “There is no room in this party for apologists for Putin. There is only room for champions of freedom.”

Former president Trump, who still commands loyalty from party members, has spoken admiringly of Putin’s attack on Ukraine. Pence’s statement appears to be an attempt to recenter the party away from Trump."

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha.

Please continue to think that anyone in the GOP...SwampGOP anyway...admires Trump.

One thing about you Blue MAGAs is, even though you think you're smart, you can't achieve nuance.

And, as far as Heather is concerned. She can put words together but I realized a looooooooong time ago that hate is where intelligence goes to die and Heather is a hater...of the GOP, even more than just Trump.

One thing that Heather don't get, nor do any of you GOPaphobes, is that the GOP, the SwampGOP, effin HATES Trump...

... but they're just stuck with him.

Those tens of thousands who travel from one Trump rally to the next will stream to the caucuses and primaries in 024, and Trump will be da man...

...and Mitch McConnell and all the GOP old time Rock n Rollers will contemplate celebrating their support of the Second Amendment by blowing their brains out, but they won't do it.

And, with the new election integrity laws in place, Trump will kick Dem butt in November 024. And, the GOP will have power...and the SwampGOPs will ALMOST wish they wouldn't.

There's nothing in islander's opening post nor HCR's commentary that suggests that "swamp GOPs" ever liked or admired Trump, so why did you respond as if islander or HRC suggested that?

"BWA - Give me a break!", right?

  3. by HatetheSwamp on March 5, 2022 8:09 am

Okay. Trump commands their loyalty. I suppose you can be loyal without admiring.

    Donna,
It's not hard to see what’s behind Hate’s bitterness, hatred, and anger. It's the position he finds himself in. He has to try to justify why, while claiming to despise the man, he remains steadfastly loyal to Trump.

Like an alcoholic, or an addict, Hate will never take responsibility for his behavior, it will always be someone else’s fault. Somebody else made Hate vote for Trump. It’s not his fault. This type of cognitive dissonance no doubt is what causes his foul, hate filled rants and childish name calling.

Being quite satisfied with the person I voted for and for the job he is doing, I can’t imagine what it must be like to pledge my loyalty to, and continuously vote for a man I despise...because I despised his opponent even more. Hatred for both sides...It must feel awful to be so full of hate.

Well, who knows? Hts is on Facebook but never discusses politics there. I think most of what he posts here is for his own entertainment. He enjoys getting a reaction out of others.

My mom is like Hts in that she also despises Democrats to the point of preferring Trump over any of them. My parents' main gripe with Democrats has always been that in their eyes, Democrats levy taxes on hard working Americans like themselves to give it away to people who don't deserve it in exchange for their votes. That's why illegal immigrants are such a big issue for them. They believe without evidence that Democrats allow illegal immigrants to pour through the southern border in hopes of garnering their votes.

George Will wrote a commentary in the Washington Post entitled "Donald Trump looks increasingly like a
stray orange hair to be flicked off the nation’s sleeve". The article has been quoted in Yahoo news and Huffington Post among other places.

Will lists several Trump endorsed candidates including David Perdue (who is a former senator thanks to Trump) and other Republicans who are suffering in the polls. The former guy's supposedly valuable endorsement was the only thing he has going for him.

Mike Pence within the last couple of days said there's no room in the Republican party for those who don't condemn Vladimir Putin. Gosh, I wonder who he could be alluding to.

    Donna,

I was a Dem for four decades from the time I voted for HHH in the 72 Primary until I couldn't handle it any longer about seven or eight years ago. I gave the Dems every opportunity to be sane...

...but I'm glad I got out before it descended to the point that it could nominate and foist on America "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."

    isle,

I promise to vote against Trump at every opportunity until the only choice is a Biden, or Kammy, alternative.

    Donna,
I suspect this is the one place Hate can vent his true feelings. I can see why he wouldn’t want to post them on Facebook.

For myself, with regard to what we talk about here, I do post the same things
on Facebook that I do here.

"I promise to vote against Trump at every opportunity until the only choice is a Biden, or Kammy, alternative."

Yes, of course. It's not your fault that you are a loyal Trump enabler. The Democrats made you do it and it's all their,/i> fault!

  10. by HatetheSwamp on March 5, 2022 2:53 pm

I've lost count of the times I've said with perfect sincerity and absolute justification...

...Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

I'm still not confident that we'll survive "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" you foisted on the world.

islander: I didn't know that you were on Facebook. I spend more time there than I do here, and I post on the same kind of topics. My social media personality is also like my real life personality.

  13. by islander on March 5, 2022 4:42 pm

Donna: I too spend far more time on Facebook than I do here. I come from a large family so between family and friends that we’ve known for years, long before Facebook came into existence, it’s an excellent way to stay in touch, share the latest news and exchange photos, since we are now all so spread out across the country. It feels like one big family gathering. I have family and friends from Washington State to Florida. All my children and grandchildren are here in New England though, which is one of the main reasons we moved back. My social personality there is also the real me as well as it is here and we can and do have some, how shall I put it, “lively political and hot button discussions” LoL !!

  14. by HatetheSwamp on March 6, 2022 3:14 am

    Interesting.

I use Facebook as a way to maintain contact with friends from the many chapters of our lives and with aunts, uncles and cousins. po and Donna are also Facebook friends.

My only Facebook friends who enter political opinions are po and Donna and one other person who is so progressive they make po seem like Marjorie Taylor Greene.

I probably put about a few hundred posts here for every post I put on Facebook.
