Opponents of the bill said teachers already teach the material in a fair and impartial manner. They suggested proponents offered no Florida examples of such attempts to indoctrinate children.
“This bill is sending a clear message that we don’t trust our teachers,” said Rep. Travaris McCurdy, D-Orlando.
And, I think that that has become the case. School Board meetings across the nation have become war zones.
Merrick Garland has had to defend himself against righteous accusations that he attempted to set the Justice Department against parents passionately concerned about what their children are being taught.
It's a shame that people can make political hay out of requiring teachers to teach in a trustworthy way.
