most disappointing movies

What movies did anyone see (ever) that they though were going to be good or
great, but found disappointing?

I was disappointed in The Matrix.
I liked the concept, & thought it looked cool,
but it ran to long. (I could only give prop for special effects.)

Recently, I saw A Dog's Purpose. I put a review on the forum here.
I liked the movie, just thought it didn't live up to the hype,
& fell short of having 3 strong acts.

It felt like introduction & over . . . roll the credits.

America is plagued with an epidemic
of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
D-K affects nearly every family.

You have to know, the real Dunning-Kruger
effects fake liberals to make them
think that they know everything.
No matter how many facts you
show them, they don't learn or accept.

Too many people are brainwashed into
believing their political party is benevolent.
While both are deep state knights & pawns.

We need outsiders like Donald Trump.

Do not confuse the Dunning-Kruger Effect
with the Dumb-Krueger Effect, started by
pseudo-psychologist to attack MAGAites.

The cure for Dumb-Krueger is knowlege!
May the facts be with you.

A movie only runs too long if there are parts that can be eliminated without changing the story. What parts of The Matrix would you remove to make it shorter?

Also - no offense, but you'd have to pay me YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE dollars to watch a dog movie.

Uh, the whole thing.

I just felt it needed less talking & was too long to go from a to b to c.

You're not offending me. You can watch what you like.
NFL, Nascar, SNL, Gaytrix.

I watch all sorts of different movies. Horror, scif-fi, dogs, action.adventure, martial arts,
westerns, etc. And I do have lot of DVDs

I watch the NFL when my team is playing, I do not watch NASCAR (nor have I ever), I haven't watched SNL in 25 years (at least) and have no idea what "Gaytrix" is, but I'm not surprised you know.

The Matrix is generally considered one of the best sci-fi movies of all time. So I guess the sci-fi you must be watching is probably either the stuff made for kids (Star Wars) or the "sci-fi" that is nothing more than thinly disguised war movies (Battle Los Angeles, etc...)

I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, but I do watch them from time to time.
(The force is way more powerful than the matrix.)
It is disappointing how they try & cater to kids.
(Ewoks & Jar Jar.)

So if you don't watch Nascar, why the name Indy? Indiana Jones?

I don't really get to involved in modern sci-fi stuff.
I'd rather watch Frankenstein or Butterfly Effect.
(And I am not even going into how bad the sly fly channel has become.)

The Gaytrix is how I make fun of the gay movie The Matrix.

The Butterfly Effect (2004) was made after the Matrix (1999).

Star Wars is popular - yes. It is not good sci-fi. Not even good movies - the acting is terrible and outside of Episodes 4 & 5 and Rogue One have terrible, easily predictable stories. Even the "surprises" were predictable - if you paid attention, you would have known Leia was Luke's sister and Vader was his dad long before those things were actually revealed. And George Lucas himself said they are movies for kids.

I really only like episode 3: Rise Of The Sith.

The movie was like a metaphor for the Bush administration. grinning smiley

It's almost sad, but people like things that are predictable. I suppose it makes them feel smart.
