Fake news now available in religion

Fake news now available in religion
December 27, 2017 09:31PM
I heard a program on the other day.
Some guy was trying to tell a caller who asked if Jesus was
killed on a cross or a tree (because apparently the later is
Jewish law), so he said a tree & a cross are the same thing.

Not so:

If weebles are wobbles & wobbles are wubbles, does that
make wubbles weebles? Of course not!

So you can say a cross is a tree, but not the other way around.

And the finger smiley to anyone who denies logic!

Absurd. The Romans executed prisoners on crosses. The holy symbol of Christianity is an instrument of torture.

A point to make is there a difference between a cross & a crucifix. The later has the image of a person.
Either way, it still is a vile image to be looked upon as holy.

The point I was trying to make is that there are idiots teaching & preaching to people.
And most people listen & follow. sad smiley

The symbol for Christianity is a crucifix. The Catholic religion is the only Christian religion - the others (that use only the cross) are offshoots created by regular folks who couldn't follow the rules, not Christ.

"The Catholic religion is the only Christian religion"

Catholic is a sect, Christianity is the religion.

Why? Because what do all Christian religions (or sects technically) have in common?

Belief in Jesus!

That's what separates them from Jews or Buddhists & anyone else.

Christ no more founded Catholicism than he did the Southern Baptist Convention. Popular legend (aka, the bible) says Jesus was Jewish. His purpose wasn't to create another legend so much as it seemed to be to reform Judaism to prepare for the imminent coming of the kingdom of God on earth. Of course, that message got changed in the first century or two following his death.

Right.

Playing Chrit's advocate here; in a perfect world everyone (Jewsa & Gentiles) would have
followed Jesus into this new way of his (some kind of reformed or updated Christianity).

And by the way, early Christian were called the "New Wayists." They later changed their
name to just "Christian," because many people didn't know the old way. There were many
kinds of Gentiles (non-jews), who didn't know of the old testament.
