There's no money in philosophy.

The philosophy market has been replaced by the self-help guru market.

If you tell me your favorite philosophy book is the Bible and I'm going to know your secret identity is Donald Trump.

I'm not sure what my favourite philosophy book is...

I really like Outlines of Skepticism by Sextus Empiricus
and The Birth of Tragedy by Nietzsche.
Also Plato's Cratylus.

OK I thought about it:

The Tao Te Ching.

The Tao Te Ching

Heh - I'm looking at a copy of that on our computer desk. I've read parts, but not the entire book. It's Ponderer's book.

I started reading reading Hero with a Thousand Faces a year or so ago, but haven't finished it. It was pretty good. I often put something down for awhile if there is a lot of good information in them, so that I can given them the attention they deserve at a later period when I have more time/energy available.

Nichomachaean ethics is something like 3400 pages unabridged, so it could be a bit of a read. winking smiley

Beyond Good and Evil is excellent. I particularly liked the Maxims and Interludes.

"There's no money in philosophy."

So true. I saw Matt Groening on Space Ghost coast to coast, & he said
if you study philosophy the only career you can get is being a cartoonist.
