If the WSJ is so fvcking smart why did they not predict the market failure and economic collapse?

How do you equate "socialism" with "fascism?" Aren't the two terms mutually exclusive?

And by the way, is there something inherently wrong with socialism - "applied" or otherwise?

Damned Fascist State! The real problem is not what is causing the growing numbers of poor in this country, thereby requiring help from the government. It's that the government isn't sufficiently decreasing the amount of help it's providing to such people yet!

socialism = a beautiful theory

socialism in practice = a super rich, super powerful tiny minority controlling both business and government that requires transfer payments from the moderately successful to them and to the other drones. the tiny elite control access to money/credit, government contracts and licenses, law making ability, iron-fisted control over all media (pre net), war powers.......much more ugliness...
