Who is Tuppy Gore? Kurt Cobain made the list twice--he must have been a real stoner. I'm glad they clarified that John F Kennedy was a "Popular US president (assassinated)". I was thinking of some other John F Kennedy.

Whether your list is accurate I know not and I don't care. What seems to be too much for you is to grasp that there may be a number who might well have become famous had they not first become Schizophrenic through Marijuana use.

At the Scopes Monkey Trial, Clarence Darrow gave a brilliant speech, but the cynical journalist H.L. Mencken told him "You may as well have shouted it up a waterspout in Outer Mongolia for all the effect it will have on your listeners ..

I see dumber with your every post. You really are a sad case, indy. You always think that laughing and screaming covers your inadequacy.

Well, perhaps I'm not the most logical person on the planet, interested - but i DO know logic dictates it's impossible to prove a negative. (Ooops) But since you were... ahem... shall we say.... "courageous" enough to stand behind that gut-buster, perhaps you'd like to take a shot at proving it anyway? I've got nothing better to do and watching you make a fool of yourself today as been the best free entertainment I've enjoyed in quite awhile.

Re: Famous marijuana smokers of the world

I have given you the "proof." You just need to try to open your addled mind to it.

"it's impossible to prove a negative."

This, btw, is a fallacy in itself. One oft repeated by morons who read only slogans.

And if proving a negative is a "fallacy" as you (ludicrously) suggest - it should be very easy for you to PROVE your statement... no? My suggestion? "there may be a number who might well have become famous had they not first become Schizophrenic through Marijuana use." - interested

Heh - I'd like to see you prove that, too.

Of course the counter to that -- which is equally plausible -- is that there may be a number on that list who might well have not become famous had they not used marijuana. Carl Sagan credited many of his insights to mj use.

Using that logic there are probably a lot of people who didn't become famous because they didn't smoke pot.

You bare beginning to show your limitations. Is none of you able to make an argument against those statistical facts. Not you, indy, though. You are a complete waste of time.

The inability to prove a begative applies to certain classes of negatives - mostly in the philosophical sphere. Just a little less pot damage would enable you to see that.

That Power is not a counter. One is a stisrical fact. The other is speculation that cannot be tested against control population groups.

And not plausible, in my opinion. Opinion is all that can apply to that claim.

Prove it. Source it. Give us anything other than your OPINION. We've only asked you about 10,000 times so far. Or give us someone ELSE'S opinion - even THAT would be an improvement over the hot air you've provided so far.

Re: Famous marijuana smokers of the world

Interesting this article said that the study that allegedly linked cannaibs to schizophrenia (based on that parts of the brain associated with paranoia were lit up under a scan) didn't have people using cannabis, but only the synthethized thc (you know the one curt says is better than the plant that has 300 other ingredients?) Well it turns out a number of those other ingredients including the cannabinols counteract that effect. So once again the study is misleading, except to indicate that synthetically refined thc, has side effects that natural cannabis negates.

Of course. This is why interested refused to post any source material - because he read his study back when Nixon was president and he never bothered to keep up with reality. As soon as I call him on it - he goes back and checks, finds out his... ahem... "info" is from a bygone millennium and then doesn't have the manhood necessary to admit he was wrong (again). So instead he exacerbates the problem by making the ludicrous claim that "Oh yeah I can prove a negative!" eye rolling smiley

Back to that Pttp? Does that mean you have given up?

Indy. That you do not have the intelligence for this is a negative. The proof is in your posts. I gave you a statistical fact and you still say "what was it."

Kai's claim that the fact has been debunked is irrelevant. It has not. You also do not seem to be able to make the simple logical connection in that, if pot smokers of a certain maturity develop the disease at a higher rate than the general population then, in the absence of some other factor, pot is a contributing cause.

Also, tou can not grasp the connection in that it is at least as plausible to say that some of those victims might have become famous as it is to say that possibly the habit helped some others to become famous.

As for actually debating whether a negative can be proved! Of course some negatives can. Logicians recognise that. Negatives cannot be proved in areas of speculation or most areas of logic. They can often in matters of fact.

You gave me what you obviously believe is a fact. You failed to source your "info". I have since posted (and sourced) info that proves your "fact" is NOT a "fact" but a relationship they are STUDYING (and have been STUDYING for years), but cannot make a positive, verifiable connection.

You - apparently - do not have the intelligence to grasp that simple idea.

You have failed to source that one as well. My info - my SOURCED info - refutes that as well.

Again - as always - you come up on the short end of the intellectual stick.

I can very easily "grasp" what you are saying. The problem is I don't believe what you are saying and you can't prove it since it is impossible to prove a negative. We also disagree on that, but all you have to do is PROVE ME WRONG BY PROVING THE NEGATIVE YOU JUST OFFERED UP. But you can't because it's IMPOSSIBLE - unfortunately your MASSIVE EGO is standing in the way of you admitting you made one of the most boneheaded mistakes ever committed on this board.

So prove yours. There is only ONE negative in question - the one YOU offered up. So PROVE it or STFU.

I can't be bothered with you, indy. You are a singularly unpleasant character. I did give you the source. The source is unimpeachable and you do not have the modest intellectual attainments necessary to absorb that or the statistical implications.

And who the Hell are you to defy logicians who do agree that a negative can be proved. Just not the kind of negatives they deal in.

My source, as I wrote, cascade, and as you all know, was the report of it in Suzuki's documentary, Kairos gave you a link to it. I happened to watch it and did not need to use the crutch of the generation - Google.

You all know damned well about that and the study that looked at 50,000 subjects.

At the Scopes Monkey Trial, Clarence Darrow gave a brilliant speech, but the cynical journalist H.L. Mencken told him "You may as well have shouted it up a waterspout in Outer Mongolia for all the effect it will have on your listeners ..

Ditto here.
