Interesting, except their math is off. Plus in 2008 the real Green candidate, McKinney lost to the nominal Green, Nader.

2008 ------------------------ Pop. Vote
Barack Obama (Democrat) 69,498,516
John McCain (Republican) 59,948,323
Ralph Nader (Independent, Peace and Freedom) 739,034
Bob Barr (Libertarian) 523,715
Cynthia McKinney (Green, Independent, Mountain) 161,797

2016 ------------------------ Pop. Vote ----------- Change
Hillary Clinton (Democrat) 65,844,969 -5%
Donald Trump (Republican) 62,979,984 5%
Jill Stein (Green) 1,449,370 796% (vs McKinney), 96% (vs Nader), 61% (vs McKinney & Nader)
Gary Johnson (Libertarian) 4,492,919 758%

Trump is unintentionally sabotaging his own and Republican candidates' campaigns.

So let's go with your numbers (because it's not worth discussing the math) - Greens are still up 800%

That's not what the Dems keep saying every time they blame the Greens for their losing elections.

Donna’s worried about her center-right candidate being outflanked on the left by TWO other candidates. smoking smiley

Those numbers do not represent the growth of the Parties. They are numbers of votes in a couple of elections. They are no more than normal swings for the two main parties.

More interesting is that they are not in line with population increase for the Republicans or the Democrats. The Trump fever did not attract any more than Bush.

Bush didn't bring any mo with him - he didn't even beat Gore. He certainly didn't have coattails or any kind of legacy to speak of other than total disaster.
