Read more than a caption and ipen your mind just a little bit. Since they won a lot more seats than the conservatives, it is not surprising that there a far more ridings. Also, is is not true and it would make no sense. Why would they not pander to ridings that they hope to win from the Conservatives or the NDP.

"Since they won a lot more seats than the conservatives, it is not surprising that there a far more ridings. "

They won about 54% of the seats. Not 75% of the seats. And they only received about 39% of the popular vote.

"Why would they not pander to ridings that they hope to win from the Conservatives or the NDP. "

The Liberal strategy is to attempt to hold what they held before. If they already lost in those ridings, they are less likely to gain them, now being considerably less popular than they were before.

Some of the big ticket items are in ridings that they will in in a walk. Most of the announcements are just repeats of infrastructure plans. The big spending announcements are all for national programmes actually and the quibble is from a Right Wing media outlet. You don't see the complaints being made even by the Conservative Party. The complaint is only for the number of announcements in a pre-election push.

I've seen complaints actually form the NDP who tallied up Trudeau's publicly funded campaign bribes at over 12 billion dollars.

The NDP got as much as any proportionately. And to cll them campaign bribes is just the kind of childishness that you love to immerse yourself in.

"The NDP got as much as any proportionately."

As the article points out the NDP ridings (where the Liberals could pick up votes) received almost the same amount of funding as the conservative ridings, despite that the Conservatives had over twice as many ridings.

"And to cll them campaign bribes is just the kind of childishness that you love to immerse yourself in. "

Even a child could understand this obvious reality. Truly childish though is to pretend that reality isn't what it is. When you hand out over12 billion dollars on the campaign trail using public funds on a mass scale for your re-election bid. It is anti-democratic and openly corrupt.

Funding to make home ownership more affordable for first time buyers across the country. Tax relief for small business.Just a couple of the big ticket items. Tell me how they are limited to Liberal ridings.

The timing just before the election can be seen as the raison d'etre. If they really wanted to lower the home prices, which they don't they could simply ban home ownership by non citizens.

No democratic society would ban home ownership by non citizens. There is nothing wrong, either, with non citizens investing in real estate for rental housing. Speculating and holding unoccupied homes to create an artificial shortage, is to be penalised.

"No democratic society would ban home ownership by non citizens."

A democratic society means a society that is beholden to its citizenry (the Demos). Not a society to beholden to the international monetary elite.

Indonesia very sensibly bans home ownership by non citizens, I'm sure other countries do as well.

"There is nothing wrong, either, with non citizens investing in real estate for rental housing."

Of course there is. This means that citizens are being forced to rent from non citizens, in other words our citizens are being turned to bonded serfs for international interests. This is a betrayal of Canada's citizenry.

No it does not mean that. In fact, foreign buying increases the rental stock.

Driving the housing prices up so locals cannot afford to buy houses, only to become indebted renters to a foreign monetary elite.

It does not drive the housing prices up. It is ll part of the supply/demand equation.

Of course it drives the housing prices up according to the law of supply and demand, because it vastly increases demand. You aren't just selling to locals, but to the international community as well.

This is the story of Vancouver real estate in a nutshell.

It is not much use explaining even economic basics to you. What it does is increase supply by investing in the answer to demand.

Which means more over development, which means more environmental destruction, more congested roads, more pollution, more overloaded city services, attended by induced demand, which ends up in the exact same spot. This means that the problem has not been solved, and further over development, and population increase is then called for and the housing prices still increase via the induced demand and continued foreign speculation.

Its a vicious capitalist cycle, which further degrades the quality of life and environment and reduces the working citizen to serf status to the international monetary elite.
