The facts and quotes in this article would make a good campaign ad exposing Trump's cruelty and hypocrisy.

In his Real Time monologue last Friday Bill Maher said that some people are telling pollsters that things were better---the economy, for instance---under Trump. Maher added, "and they say Joe Biden has memory issues."

Maher visited that point a couple of more times in his show. He remarked that all the major economic indicators are better under Biden they were under Ronald Reagan when he ran for re-election under his "Morning in America" campaign banner. The unemployment rate in 1984 was 7.3%, it's 3.9% now. In 1984, the 30-Year Fixed Rate Mortgage Average was 14%, it's less than half that now.

In Maher's New Rules, Maher admonished viewers to "cheer the F... up!" See link.

I guess to the uninformed, that's all true. For the rest of the world (meaning outside of the little germans) the world is different. And real. Do you actually think Mahr is feeling the same pain as those working on a single income of a "part time job" that your 11-year-old-loving-uncle-earnie is talking about? Again. you have ZERO empathy for those not like you. (other than the victims of your "desires" crossing the border).

    Curt,

I get it. You're a Good German. But, buddy, did you take Macro Economics 101 back in the day?

What we've got is what you get when the government overspends... which "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" done.

You get a lot of economic activity. And, otherwise good economic news... except...
for the inflation and the super high cost of a car for people who finance and of buying a house because of mortgage rate.

I can never tell if you're an uninformed dolt... or, if you're lying,... or if you're just a true believer in the Former Trucker.

Anyway, I think the polls tell the truth about the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool. For average low information voters, the economy ain't as great as it is for Maher.

The FED sets the interest rate, not the president. There is new car inventory shortage because of the global chip shortage and COVID related supply chain issues. Supply and demand causes car prices to increase. Car dealers aren't even advertising in our area.

FYI, Biden addressed the chip shortage with the CHIPS Act. Look it up.

Oh, Curt. Maybe I'm wrong and the Doddering Old Fool is plus 17 points on the economy.

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha. NOT!

“Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public”--- attributed to H.L. Mencken.

Many, probably most, Americans are ignoramuses when it comes to economics. They also have foggy idea about democracy. Many think that the American president has imperial powers and controls everything from the price of eggs to subscription cost of Netflix. Some would gladly end democracy and replace it with an emperor.

    Curt,

There's a lot of ignoramus-ness in your paragraph. You don't know much about economics yourself, clearly. While the president doesn't have imperial powers, he has executive powers and the Doddering Old Fool has used those powers, essentially, imperially. His administration is the closest thing to Big Brother America's ever known.

Oh, and ours is a republic, not a democracy.

The U.S. Is Both a Republic AND a Democracy
Don't just take it from me; take it from the Framers and other early American statesmen: "Democracy" has long included representative democracy as well as direct democracy, and "Republic" was used to refer to regimes that were not representative.

I would say that you, above everyone here is THE leading ignoramus about economic and political systems. First, only you sheeple believe the "president" has imperial powers and controls everything, including the congress and SCOTUS. You are actively trying to replace this republic with a despot "president for life." You continually cheer for selective enforcement of laws (if it's not against your sheeple), and didn't even know or understand that China's economic system is communism!🤣 And it wouldn't be so funny, but that was in your thread title and basic premise! So it wasn't a "misspeak" at all. It was the foundation of your thread! Seriously?!
