"Disclosure of the government's affidavit at this stage would also likely chill future cooperation by witnesses whose assistance may be sought as* this investigation progresses, as well as in other high-profile investigations," the Justice Department wrote. "The fact that this investigation implicates highly classified materials further underscores the need to protect the integrity of the investigation and exacerbates the potential harm if information is disclosed to the public prematurely or improperly."

* That's "as" not "if". A week after the FBI seized the classified documents from Mar-a-Lago, the DOJ knows what they have.

Those witnesses who might be chilled are evidently still in Trump's orbit. The witness(es) could be somebody from his Secret Service detail, his housekeeping staff or even family members. That must be unnerving for Trump.

Actually, what this does is disclose HOW they would ask for the violation of the 4th and 6th amendment. In fairness, that's what all warrants do, so that's an "assumption" on everyone in the court. The issue is; was the violation of two of the original amendments to the constitution worth the articulable facts to violate said laws.

The issue that I said earlier, when either you or isle said they were the same, They are not the same. The affidavit are all the things that made the warrant possible "according to the law."

My issue is the same as the sheep on this site have with not "testifying" for a affidavit. It is an integral part of the legal system. If this is not produced, and if my lawyer didn't challenge every piece and page of evidence, I would fire them on the spot. IF the prosecution knows this is going to happen, and their asses aren't wired shut on this, shit leaks. Once the preponderance of evidence isn't met. Prosecution is totally fucked.

OOPS! silly me, I'm just "assuming" (which made an ass out of you and me) that what they wanted was actually for a criminal trial, not merely a committee inquiry which needs no legal defence.
