I'm guessing this won't be a topic of conversation today between Trump and Buck & Travis.

WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday brought a formal end to former President Donald Trump's request to block the release of White House records sought by the Democratic-led congressional panel investigating last year's deadly attack on the Capitol by a mob of his supporters.

The court's decision to formally reject Trump's appeal follows its Jan. 19 order that led to the documents being handed over to the House of Representatives investigative committee by the federal agency that stores government and historical records.

Good deal. Trump, who is despicable, did the right thing in taking the Separation of Powers issue all the way to the Supreme Court.

    Now, he'll comply, I'm sure.

Trump and his layers did not make a Separation of Powers argument as for why Trump didn't want presidential records revealed. They unsuccessfully argued Executive Privilege, or really former executive privilege as reason to hide White House records.

Yes, Trump will comply. He will obey the law only after all other alternatives are exhausted.

You wanna splain the difference between Executive Privilege and Separation of Powers?

    Perhaps I mischaracterized Trump's claim.

The Senate Republicans explain it in the link below. At least they try. The Supreme Court settled the matter.

White House records are not the personal property of a former president. There is no such thing as "former executive privilege", but if there were, "current executive privilege" to release White House records carries more weight than the former guy's assertion of privilege.

    Curt,

I'm going to have to catch some fresh air and take a few deep breaths. First, you cite Tucker Carlson on Ukraine now you rely on Senate GOPs to splain Separation of Powers and Executive Privilege.

    This ain't right.
